Xploring Hungary: See Bee Eaters At Albertirsa
"The largest colony of bee eaters in Europe, some 50 to 60 pairs nest here annually from early May to autumn in hollows carved into the loess wall. The size of a blackbird but a little slimmer, this bird is resplendent with its stunning colours.

Its throat is golden yellow, its breast and stomach dark green. It has a white forehead at the base which runs to green and there are black strips past its eye, a black patch round the throat towards the breast.

The nape and top of the wings are dark cinnamon and the tail is green with the two central feathers protruding like an arrow.

The area can be visited freely."
