It counts as a miracle if a hotel opens in due time as it is anounced a year previous to the deadline. Still unique that only one member left the core leadership of the opening team assigned to an abroad mission. As we are over the introduction, our coleagues prepare to recall a memorable moment which they are so proud of.

One year is such a long time but this may be an exaggeration. In any case, it required a lot of energy invested on our side. On the basis of the pictures we leave you to judge the extent of exhaustion our colleague’s efforts resulted in.

We take the opportunity to express our gratitude to all those partners who supported us with their orders, reservations including the injection of Forints and Euros into our funds. We encourage them to return and others also to visit and enjoy our services.

GÉHER ZOLTÁN Hotel Director: ” Creation is inspiring. Here I had a chance to be creative in co-operation with my excellent assistants to call Hotel Continental Budapest to existence. Never in my wildest dreams I thought that we would experience a 70% population in the first year in a place like Dohány Utca in times when we only hear complaints on business matters. Together with the highly qualified, enthusiastic team, we managed to overcome the initial difficulties without having our partners noticed anything. I was naive to think that the introdduction would take years as it happened at my previous starts but thanks to God, I was wrong.”

Jakab Gábor Sales Director: ” The most memorable moment for me was June 15. 2010. the arrival of the first group of tourists because we promised to set boilers in each room which we missed to install in the midst of hasty preparations. Luckily, the head of the group came to check the rooms prior to their reception. He inquired about the rooms, the keys, the dinner, and the boilers of course.

Only then had we realized that we forgot about them. We had them in them set aside but we did not have hands to do the work. When they finally arrived, I served the welcome drink, introducing them into the history of the hotel, while, the director and the executive housekeeper walked into each room and set up the necessary equipments, the boilers, the cups, and tea.”
