The increased monitoring of imported wines was ordered last November by Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas, and was made necessary by the large quantities of foreign wines entering the country recently.

Monitoring at the first site of storage in Hungary include checks on the wine's documentation, the invoices, cellar registers and transport documents of each individual shipment, and also the results of laboratory tests.
