New Stars Announced For The Balaton Sound Festival In Hungary
Heineken Balaton Sound is happy to present new names for this year’s line-up, including Knife Party, the electro-house project of Pendulum’s founding members, two-times Brit Awards and one-time Ivor Novello Awards winner Tinie Tempah and one of the most important representatives of the German e-music scene, Sven Väth. And for all of those who don’t know: in 2012 The Sound is a day longer, already starting with Day 0 on 11 July and offering the usual great beach party feeling in Zamardi, Lake Balaton, Hungary.

Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, Pendulum’s world famous members are heading towards Lake Balaton this summer to present their energy-bomber, amplifier-killer electro-house project, Knife Party. Besides their gigs with breathtaking visual support, they already released a maxi under this name and also produced several remixes.

The Zamardi event is also more than happy to host London-based grime and electro hop phenomenon Tinie Tempah, who already reached everything the scene has to offer. His debut album, Disc-Overy was nominated for a Mercury Award last year, so if you’re into grime and electro-boosted hiphop, you will have an unforgettable night at the seaside event. And you won’t be alone, sharing the sunset view with Sven Väth, one of the most important German e-musicians, already present on the scene for more than three decades and returning for the third time to Heineken Balaton Sound

dOP is one name for three creative, irresistible Parisians, namely Damian Vandesande, Jonathan Illel and Clement Aichelbaum. Their organic electronic production covers a number of genres, including live and electronic tunes, funk, jazz, classical and minimal house panels, surrounded by laidback, lounge-like themes. Besides them, Balaton Sound will also be happy to present Benga, the most important dubstep performer-producer of the past few years, drawing in millions of e-music fans to fall in love with the genre. Together with Artwork and Skream he founded Magnetic Man and also helped to rocket Katy B to her current stardom. Benga is a living dubstep legend, preparing his unusual and exciting solo performance for the fans at this year’s Heineken Balaton Sound.

Nicky Romero is a hugely talented Dutch electro-house DJ and producer, already looking back at a great number of international gigs, in spite of his young age. His short but more than successful career included playing at the best party places of the old continent, USA and Australia. Now it’s time for Hungary!

And the line-up includes several other great names. If you’re happy about Sven Väth’s gig, you will surely cheer about the fact that his invention, Oliver Koletzki is also joining the lakeside party, navigating between techno, house, or even pop, helped by Fran, a wonderful lead singer who also worked on Koletzki’s Lovestoned album in 2010.

Another great act of the festival will be London-based Shy FX, a ragga and jungle warrior who is active and popular since the 90’s, followed by thousands of fans ever since. And last but surely not least you can meet Jackmaster, a Scottish electronic musician and founder of Numbers, one of the trendiest and most exciting labels of these days. His bass music-based sets are renowned for dynamic rhythm changes, mixing techno, house, hiphop, dubstep and UK funk.

And saving the best news for last: it’s less than 80 days left till opening the gates of the 6th Heineken Balaton Sound. Time to get in shape!
