It Is Hungary’s Interest To Have Strong Hungarian Nationality Representation
Péter Szijjártó, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations, declared in Bucharest that Hungary is committed to the support of Hungarian communities in Transylvania, and it is its interest to have a strong nationality representation in Bucharest.

According to the State Secretary, the Democratic Alliance Hungarians in Romanian is strong enough to maintain the Hungarian nationality representation in the Parliament of Romania. He added that the Hungarian government is aware of its responsibility and remains committed to supporting the case of strong nationality representation and Hungarian national communities living in Transylvania.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán participated at the leadership conference of the centre-right parties’ organization in Bucharest as the Vice President of the European People’s Party: on this occasion the Prime Minister held bilateral talks with the leaders of the European People’s Party.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Michael Spindelegger, Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice-Chancellor. According to State Secretary Péter Szijjártó, the excellent relations between the two countries creates opportunities to open new border crossing points that ease the lives of those who are settled next to the borders and facilitate the development of the interrelated economic regions.

Referring to the meeting between Viktor Orbán and Finnish Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen, the State Secretary said that the bilateral relations are excellent and in addition to reviewing relations the challenges faced by the European Union were also discussed.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held a speech at the conference about the perspectives of the European Union. He claimed that the economic crisis cannot be handled with those measures that have triggered it, so new measures have to be advocated. He outlined that „We need more Europe, allowing member states to choose their own economic policies for effective crisis handling. The European People’s Party has to turn to impoverished and middle class families. The centre-right powers have to shape politics as the parties of real people’s in order to confirm to everyone that democracy is also the only solution for their own problems. We must increase economic competitiveness and social stability simultaneously.” He also added that agreement with the IMF and European Union is very close, however Hungary needs only a precautionary credit.
