New Direct Budapest-Seoul Flights Launched by Asiana Airlines

This expansion pushes the total capacity on the route to over 2,000 seats per week, a significant boost for both business travelers and the local expat community. Beyond convenience, the move is a strategic win for the Hungarian economy, strengthening the already deep-rooted commercial ties between the two nations.
A Growing Intercontinental Hub
Máté Lóga, Chairman of the Board at Budapest Airport, noted that South Korea is currently one of Hungary's most vital intercontinental partners, attracting nearly 100,000 direct and 50,000 connecting passengers annually.
“The new flight opens up fresh opportunities for those previously forced to take connecting flights,” Lóga stated. “With high load factors already reported, we are confident in the success of this connection, which further strengthens the economic and cultural ties between our two countries.”
Expanded Far East Connectivity
The arrival of Asiana further solidifies Budapest Airport’s presence in the Far East.
As of 2026, the airport’s eastern network has expanded to eight major destinations:
South Korea: Seoul
China: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xi’an, and Ningbo.
This daily service to Seoul is a welcome addition for those looking to explore the K-culture wave or manage international business interests with greater ease.
