Thai Police Seek Hungarian Murder Suspect
Thai authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of a suspect in the murder of Hungarian Péter Reisz near Phuket last week. The Bangkok Post reported on Monday that an arrest warrant has been issued for a 35-year-old Hungarian known both as Moshe David and as András Németh Gábor.

Reisz’s body was found on a rubber plantation in the region of Kathu, on the island of Phuket.

A Hungarian friend of his told detectives that Reisz had a business dispute with his suspected killer concerning property on the island of Samui.

National Police spokesman László Garamvölgyi said Hungarian authorities have been looking for the murder suspect since he escaped from prison and fled to Thailand in February, 2011.

Eight warrants for his arrest have been issued in Hungary regarding property matters as well as violent crimes. The National Bureau of Investigation has ordered an inquiry into the case.

Reisz, a Hungarian-Israeli dual citizen, was reportedly stabbed to death. He had recently written to the Hungarian consul that his life was in danger.
