Celebrating Immortal Rabbie Burns In Budapest
The Scots certainly know how to party and did exactly that over 3 days here in Budapest at the end of January to celebrate the birthday of their most famous poet Robert Burns. More than 450 tartan revellers enjoyed three consecutive events at The Caledonia Scottish Bar (Friday), The Corinthia Grand Hotel ('Big Burns Supper' on Saturday) and The Scottish Mission ('Wee Burns Supper' on Tuesday). The whisky flowed, courtesy of Johnnie Walker, and the most famous Scottish dish of haggis, neeps and tatties was served to the sound of a world champion pipe band flown in specially from Scotland for the occassion.

To top it all off more than 5m HUF was raised for children’s charities here in Budapest.
Who said the Scots were tight with their money?
