Public Lighting Will Not Be Confiscated In Budapest
Fidesz MP and Budapest deputy mayor István György has withdrawn his bill submitted last week on transferring all public lighting systems to the state or local governments.

Electricity distributors operate public lighting in most communities outside of Budapest, Napi Gazdaság points out.

In Budapest there is a mixed system, partly owned by the city and partly by the distributor.

Observers were surprised by the bill, finding it problematic from a legal point of view.
