- 30 Apr 2013 9:00 AM
In 2012 the two-day event brought together the best Hungarian, Central European and English-speaking authors and thinkers to share stories and debate ideas. In 2013 Hay Festival Budapest has grown in many ways; it brings a new series of conversations over five days, and introduces contemporary authors, poets, architects, mathematicians and musicians to the audience in Hungary.
The events will take place in Petofi Irodalmi Múzeum and Central European University, with the evening music events being held at Akvárium Budapest.
The 2013 Festival brings a new series of conversations with some of the best innovators, poets, architects, mathematicians, novelists and musicians of our time. The programme includes Péter Esterházy, one of the most widely-known contemporary Hungarian writers, Nicole Krauss, author of Great House, The History of Love and Man Walks into a Room, Spanish philosopher Fernando Savater, the Anglo/Hungarian poet and translator George Szirtes, Dutch novelist Jaap Scholten, the great French architect Odile Decq, Marcus du Sautoy, Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University, Germaine Greer bringing fresh views on Shakespeare, and the legendary American journalist and Watergate hero Carl Bernstein.
