New Plans For Erzsébet Tér Venue In Budapest
The downtown Erzsébet tér Cultural Centre and Park will be upgraded with a concert hall seating 1,500 spectators and a studio to host socio-cultural events by next spring, ministerial commissioner Zoltán Guller told a press briefing. The unfinished underground rooms will be completed at a cost of Ft 1.7 billion.

The square’s Akvárium Klub will have to cease operations in late September and the nearby Design Terminal in late December, Guller said.

He said the structure underneath Erzsébet tér has been unfinished since 1997 although it has had all necessary construction permits since 2000.
