Mortgage Debtors Protest In Budapest At Astoria
Hundreds of people sat down at the Astoria intersection in Budapest on Tuesday afternoon to promote their demands for a solution to the problems of foreign-currency mortgage debtors. The crowd dispersed peacefully shortly before 8 p.m.

Árpád Kásler, head of The Homeland Is Not For Sale movement, said if they do not receive a substantive and genuine answer to their resolution approved at their August 19 “national rally”, then the activists will occupy important intersections in 50 towns.

Demonstrators carried posters reading “compensation for cheated borrowers” and “mortgage borrowers do not want tax forints”.
