Event Report: European Cheese Contest In Budapest
The 'National Cheese Contest of European Nations' was organised for the first time in Hungary by SZEGA Foods, in their new ‘Covent Garden’ style delicatessen, in the basement area of Budagyöngye shopping mall. Guests could subsequently taste the cheeses during the wine festival too.

The contest brought together 15 traditional types of cheese from 15 European nations, for the honour of becoming the 'Favourite cheese of Hungary', or in other words, ‘The Big Cheese’.

The purpose of the event was to bring the traditional and centuries-old cheese production and the high level of quality of national cheeses (which different countries call ‘the cheese of the nation’), to the attention of the Hungarian public.

Then down to business: the public then could vote for their favourite cheese on the www.nemzeteksajtversenye.hu website. Thanks to the generous offers of the supporters, precious prizes were to be raffled among registered voters at the end of the event.

All I need now is a nice bottle of wine. I am sure I saw one somewhere in the store and that is me set for a relaxing night.
