The 2014 Sziget Festival will take place a week later than usual. Károly Gerendai, main organizer of the event, said: “The practice of previous years has shown us that Sziget is at the same week as other big events in the USA or Japan, so it is difficult to bring the big stars to Europe. Our event is internationally well-known by now, but we feel that it needs this boost to have a chance of presenting a stronger line-up in 2014. Besides, we also hope that Sziget will be voted among the best festivals at the European Festival Awards”.

Indeed, Sziget Festival is once again nominated in the category of ‘Best Major European Festival’ at the European Festival Awards, so all those Szitizens who want to help the work of the organizing team can vote for Sziget here

Sziget ticket sales starts on 15 October and the 2014 Early Bird prices are the same as last year. This means that fans can buy weekly passes - valid for 7 days with camping possibilities - for 199 EUR, or 5-day non-camping passes for 169 EUR until 31 December. Szitizens can also upgrade the camping possibilities to more complex services. All current offers are available on the Sziget website.
