Cultural Ties Core Of Hungary - France Relations
- 18 Dec 2013 3:00 AM
Cultural ties are the solid core of relations between France and Hungary, Gergely Prőhle, deputy state secretary for foreign affairs, said in Paris on Thursday at an event celebrating the raising of diplomatic ties between the two countries to embassy level 50 years ago.
After a conference, Prőhle told MTI that a testament to the importance of cultural relations was that cultural institutes operated in each other’s countries when normal diplomatic relations did not exist.
He had talks with David Kessler, the cultural advisor to the French president, and the deputy state secretary asked for French government financial support towards operating a recently opened French centre at Szeged University.
