Orbán Heralds More Utility Rate Cuts In Hungary
Fidesz caucus leader Antal Rogán is working on a third round of utility rate cuts, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Friday. Rogán confirmed the news on HírTV Saturday evening, adding that Fidesz will decide on the matter in early January.

Development Ministry state secretary János Fónagy and MP Szilárd Németh will be part of a working group responsible for utility rate cuts, Rogán added.

Fónagy told a Sunday press conference that the team will prepare a proposal on the timing, content, extent and manner of the third utility rate cut “within the very foreseeable future”.

Fónagy expressed hope that the state will be able to purchase as many energy companies as possible within a short time.
