Joulupukki from Lapland visited the locality of Kaposmérő-Baglaspuszta in one of the country’s poorest regions on Tuesday. On his visit to the locality inhabited 94 per cent by Roma, Santa Claus was accompanied by Zoltán Kovács, Minister of State for Social Inclusion at the Ministry of Human Resources.
Parish priest László Somos, who has been working hard in the region for 19 years, provided crucial assistance in enabling Santa Claus from Finland to surprise the local children. 150 children received parcels filled with sweets and toys from Santa Claus, who was welcomed with great joy and enthusiasm.
After the distribution of presents, the children surprised Santa Claus with a traditional Roma dance.
