Day Of Hungarian Culture Marked

Celebrations, cultural programmes were held nation-wide on Sunday, ahead of the Day of Hungarian Culture marked each year on January 22. In Budapest, celebrations with an exhibition of ceramic artist Zsuzsa Pannonhalmi were organised by the Hungarian Arts Acedmy (MMA) and the Hungarian Civil Cooperation Association at the Danube Palace.
Head of the MMA György Fekete opened the event. State secretary for culture János Halász attended celebrations in Szatmárcseke, in the far northeast corner of the country, by the grave memorial of the writer of the Hungarian anthem Ferenc Kölcsey.
Other cultural celebrations were held in all parts of the country as well is in Hungarian communities in neighbouring countries.
