Of course a tiny effort is required of guests of the party, namely to stick to the ‘Baroque á la carte’ dress-code, but it’s really nothing a bit of creativity cannot resolve. They are expected to personalize the ‘Baroque’ feeling, to mix the signature elements of the era with the 21st century look and to accessorize as the organizers are well aware that art history is way more fun when you are wearing it.

This era is scenic, spectacular, with endless lavish possibilities – its topicality makes Baroque a wonderful theme for a fancy dress party. As for the costume and accessory availability: the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Last fall all the most remarkable luxury fashion houses fell in love once again with the Baroque era, and this miraculous rediscovery brought back the velvety jackets, the ruffled shirts, heavy necklaces and giant brooches to the shelves of the stores. Not to mention the comeback of pale white skin.

The rest is up to courage, creativity and personal taste.
