Washington Exhibition Marks 70th Anniversary Of Holocaust In Hungary

Memorials must reflect the entire perspective of an era and not just elements of it, regardless of whether they are dedicated to the anniversary of German occupation or the Holocaust, he said.
The president of the Hungarian Initiatives Foundation Tamás Fellegi said that Jewish culture is going through a renaissance in Hungary but much has yet to be overcome when it comes to interpreting the past.
Mainstream political forces are not anti- Semitic but decision-makers must fully realise the need to fight against racism and anti-Semitism, he said.
The photo exhibition was organised by the Carl Lutz Foundation, the Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice, the HAC and the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, with the support of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
