Danube Carnival, International Multicultural Festival
Now on, this super summer carnival incorporates many European performers as well as exotic guest ensembles from overseas including Asia. On until 22 June, around 12-15 international ensembles with nearly 300 artists will perform in Budapest and around Hungary.

This is the 19th year of the event, about which organizers say, "The main goal of the festival is to provide audiences with a memourable artistic experience; presenting Europe’s cultural heritage, and to foster intercultural dialogue.

The performance locations are are named as: Vörösmarty Square, Heritage House, Mátyásföld – Erzsébetliget Theatre, Óbuda – Békásmegyer, Budafok – Wine City, Üröm.

For the record, the organiser is the Duna Art Company; the director is János Mucsi, a choreographer awarded the 'Knight Cross Distinction' of the Hungarian Republic, and the Harangozó Gyula Prize.
 
The main Carnival Parade will be held on 21 June in the heart of Budapest, with more than 1000 participants  marching from the Pesti Vigadó through the Váci Street.  Dance and music groups will celebrate the Carnival with a non-stop dance gala at the Vörösmarty Square.
