Wine & Sports Fans Celebrate At Lake Balaton, 10-13 July
Press release: Lovers of the Hungarian sea, Balaton, and wine, gather together this year 10-13 July, 2014 in Balatonfüred. VinCE Balaton wine and gastro festival and the prestigious long distance sailing competition, Kékszalag (Blue Ribbon) welcomes guests with the magical view of more hundred sailing boats on the starting-line while dozens of wineries and gastro exhibitors line up next to the port.

The promenade offers only quality wines and delicacies but also great summertime joy with free concerts, football championship broadcasting and exclusive wine tastings.

The traditional Blue Ribbon Championship is organized since 1934 and it is the largest and longest distance ‘round-the-lake’ competition in Europe with hundreds of teams, while VinCE Balaton ensures the great mood for jitter with free concerts and refreshing quality wines, a real gourmet experience and exclusive programs. All this at the Northern capital of the lake, Balatonfüred, that offers plenty of cultural programs, professional hospitality and wonderful scenery with the lake and its wine hills around.

Talented Hungarian bands like Kerekes Band, the Pannonia Allstar Ska Orchestra and Rájátszás give concerts to ensure good mood while street performers entertain guest discovering the long and shady promenade.
25 renowned winemakers line up their selected quality offer dedicated to appease summer thirst. Besides the five own wine regions around Balaton also the top winegrowing areas of Hungary will be represented like Tokaj or Villány, Eger and Szekszárd. And what’ more, palinka, the traditional fruit brandy, icy coctails, delicate coffee and beer specialties are showcased to accompany the great barbecue, light ham and cheese plates and other handcrafted delicacies.
Sports fans may also join the football championship broadcast during the days of the final and try the best value for money wines and “fröccs” (spritzer) to celebrate the goals and the memorable summer experience.

Sail through the wineworld
At the Sky Lounge visitors are lifted hight with a glass of wine in their hands to wonder over the beautiful landscape. VinCE Tasting offers thirty wines, among them rare specialties presented by experts or festival members may join a 90 minutes tasting session on a yacht to gather an even more memorable experience and learn about sparkling wines, rosé, or the special grape varieties of Balaton.

Balatonfüred, a unique destination
The most important sight of the town are Jókai House and City Museum while Vaszary Gallery exhibits artworks from both Hungarian and international artists like Csók István, Ferenczy Károly, Amrita Sher-Gil, Joan Miró or Silvio Monti.

The Tagore promenade is a picturesque setting to take a walk, but also the Vitorlás square and the port, the deep forest of Kiserdő park and the beaches are attracting those who love the nature.

Besides the weekend program several restaurants, hotels and cafés are open to show the best side of Hungarian hospitality.
