Budapest Restaurants To Be Checked By NAV
- 5 Aug 2014 10:00 AM
NAV, the tax authority, is launching a comprehensive check of Budapest restaurants, to end abuses and fraudulent activities, as well as to force restaurants to provide proper receipts, it was announced on Monday.
Many restaurants frequented by tourists present receipts similar to proper invoices, thereby misleading consumers and evading tax payments.
The NAV stressed that it will not hassle restaurants where the data stream from online cash registers indicates regular tax payment.
