Hungary PC Sales Climb 8% In 2014

Sales of personal computers in Hungary rose 8% to 590,000 last year, business daily Világgazdaság said, citing data from market researcher IDC.
The increase came in spite of a 16% drop in sales in the fourth quarter. IDC analyst Bence Bagi told the paper that fourth-quarter sales of desktops fell 38% to 34,000, but notebook sales rose 2% to 126,000. Tablet sales were down 15% at 123,000 and probably declined by around the same rate for the full year.
This year, PC sales are set to climb again on purchases by government institutions and big businesses, Bagi said.
