Environmental awareness is crucial for the Municipality of Budapest and BKK, their aim is to support public transport services of the capital city with low-emission, modern vehicles.
Through this development Budapest has joined a group of metropolises, where also environmentally friendly hybrid-powered buses are running on the roads.
At speed of 10-20 kilometers per hour the vehicles are using solely electric power, and thus leaving the bus stops becomes nioseless and smokeless.
The aim of BKK is to operate exclusively low-floor buses across the whole area of Budapest by 2018.
