The speaker will present the results of an interview study on what type of problems real-life business analysts face and show how CEU's new MSc program helps overcome these problems.
19:20 - 19:40: Kertész János (Center for Network Science) - Diffusion of innovations: Data analysis and modeling
Theories of innovation spreading has been based largely on anecdotal evidence but recent data from information-communication technology enable a more quantitative approach. We studied the diffusion of the largest free Voice over Internet network (Skype) and the paid services on it and constructed a mathematical framework to describe it.

In this presentation the speaker will explore consumers inertia/inattention using data on the customers of a major UK water utility company.
