Two Winners For Hungary's New National Gallery
- 15 Apr 2015 9:00 AM
The Japanese firm Sejima and Nishizawa and Associates (SANAA) and Norway’s Snöhetta have jointly won the first place in the international tender for the design of the planned new Hungarian National Gallery. The design for the museum will be selected following consultations with the designers, based on professional and financial considerations of the two bids.
Architect Gábor Zoboki, designer of the Palace of Arts, among other projects, proposed an alternative design placing the National Gallery in Buda Castle instead of City Park, but was excluded from the tender.
