Vodafone Withdraws Ads From Hungarian TV2
Vodafone Magyarország has announced that it is suspending advertisements on TV2 until the commercial broadcaster discloses the results of its internal investigation into the broadcast last Friday of an apparent rape on the reality show “Éden Hotel”.

Vodafone, which spends several hundred million forints of ads on TV2 each year, said in a statement that it is against all forms of violence and takes a firm stance in defence of human rights, including women’s rights.

The company called on TV2 to publish its investigation in a transparent.

TV2 has tried to downplay the incident in which a man sexually assaulted a woman, calling it a seduction rather than an assault.

The media authority NMHH will begin an inquiry into the incident, and has 40 days to issue a ruling.
