US Ambassador To Hungary: Important To Confront The Past
- 22 May 2015 9:00 AM
So many sad events took place in Hungary at that time, and yet it is common today to debate what exactly happened and who was involved in those events, she said.
CEU rector John Shattuck said the publication was based on lectures given at a 2014 conference organised on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Holocaust.
The aim of the conference was to review the events of the Holocaust and to debate what Holocaust education should look like, he said.
The conference also focused on how to respond to anti-Semitism, racism and homophobia, he added.
The publication discusses the role of Holocaust memorials in understanding the past as well as the effectiveness of Holocaust research methodology.
