Generic Cigarette Packs Lie Ahead In Hungary
- 26 Jun 2015 9:00 AM
Parliament will consider a proposal to impose uniform packaging on packs of cigarettes in the autumn, Prime Minister’s Office chief János Lázár announced yesterday. If approved, cigarette packs would feature only health warnings along with the name of the manufacturer in an identical font and size without any logos.
This way, he argued, it would not be necessary for tobacco shops to cover their windows.
“This is not the last step,” he said, “we have more plans up our sleeves to curb smoking, which tobacco companies may not like”.
