New Migrant Collection Point At Röszke In Hungary Opens On Friday
A new collection point for migrants to be set up at Röszke, in southern Hungary, will have capacity for 1,000 people, the national police headquarters said. The new facility built at a cost of 38 million forints (EUR 120,000) is planned to be completed on Friday. MTI was told that the collection point will be located near the hangar where the registration of migrants is currently being carried out.

Construction workers were being helped by inmates under the supervision of prison guards, MTI’s correspondent said. Most migrants have been entering Hungary illegally in the area of Röszke in recent weeks.

A temporary razor wire fence has been laid along the Hungary-Serbia border.

Near Röszke, however, where railway tracks cross the border, there is no razor wire and the migrants can still enter at this point.

Trains were stopped there last week after the migrants threw objects at the approaching train.
