Military Police Continue Securing Public Areas In Hungary
- 17 Dec 2015 8:00 AM
The presence of military police will be maintained due to the threat of terrorism and they will continue securing public areas and military institutions, daily Magyar Idők said on Wednesday. Citing information from the defence ministry, the paper said military police will be present at locations where a large number of people are expected, such as transport junctions and events where many visitors are expected. They are authorised to carry out checks on other military personnel and vehicles only.
Only regular police are authorised to take action in connection with civilians unless a violent attack threatening public safety is committed, the paper said.
