Hungarian Company Court Rejects Megapolis’ Application For Registration As TV2 Owner
In a first instance ruling the company court of the Budapest Municipal Court has rejected Megapolis Media’s application for registration as member of commercial television broadcaster TV2 Media Group Holdings, TV2 Media Group Holdings and its owners Yvonne Dederick and Zsolt Simon said.

The company court’s resolution confirmed that the owners of TV2 Media Group Holdings are Yvonne Dederick and Zsolt Simon, who are also managing directors of the company, and said that several statements by the representatives of Megapolis Media on the subject are false.

Legal dispute about the ownership emerged after producer Andy Vajna announced his purchase on October 16, 2015 when Károly Fonyó, an associate of businessman Lajos Simicska, said his company Megapolis Media bought TV2 on October 13 through calling his preemption rights acquired in autumn 2014.

Simicska is a business magnate who earlier had a falling out with the prime minister.

The two managing directors confirmed that the transaction concluded with Magyar Broadcasting Co., a company of the government’s film industry commissioner, the producer Andy Vajna, had been completed and the company is the new owner of TV2 Media Csoport.
