Hungarian Government Ad Campaign Broke Rules
The media authority has fined TV2 Ft 856,000 after finding that the channel and four of its affiliates aired government advertisements in contravention of regulations in the second half of last year.

The government paid an estimated Ft 1.2 billion for the ads, website 444.hu points out.

The government ad campaigns ran only on TV2 stations aside from state media, the website notes, adding that there are more than 100 channels operating in Hungary.

Ads proclaiming the success of government reforms appeared 1,500 times on the four TV2 channels.
