Two Hungarian Related Films Up For Oscars

The screenwriter of Hungarian origin told newspaper Bors that her grandfather was born in Hungary and he escaped to the USA in World War 2. Her mother was born there and married in New York.

The film’s story takes place during the economic boom of the 50s. Therese (Rooney Mara) is working as a saleswoman in one of the large Manhattan stores. One day she meets the upscale Carol (Cate Blanchett). Their early friendly relationship deepens.
The wealthy woman lives in an unhappy marriage, her only source of joy is her daughter. His husband becomes aware of the affair and questions the morality of his wife. In time, additional family secrets will be revealed, szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu told.
