KSH: Mobile Phone Subscriptions In Hungary Rise In 2015
The number of mobile phone subscriptions in Hungary grew by 69,000, reaching 11.9 million, by the end of 2015 as compared to the preceding year, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office reported on Friday.

Following a trend established in previous years, the number of clients with monthly subscriptions compared to users of top-up cards continued to increase over last year, KSH noted. By the end of 2015, 57.5% of clients had monthly subscriptions and 42.5% used top-up cards, KSH said, while in 2011, the ratios stood at 50.5% to 49.5%.

Although in the last quarter of 2015 the number of calls made from mobile phones dropped by 2.4% as compared to the same period a year earlier, calls made from mobiles throughout the whole year were up by 0.1% to 8.1 billion, according to data from KSH.

The duration of mobile phone calls, however, rose by 7.1% last year as compared to the preceding year, reaching 20 billion minutes.
