Extra Airport Security Controls At Budapest Airport
The Hungarian cabinet took a decision on Wednesday to carry out unscheduled security checks and controls at Liszt Ferenc International Airport in order to reassure Hungarian citizens and foreigners arriving on international flights, György Bakondi, senior adviser on domestic security to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, told a press briefing.

Bakondi said intensive consultations and exchanges of information are under way between services responsible for European security as the recent suicide attack carried out in Istanbul is the second such attack at an airport that has caused heavy casualties within a short time.

Bakondi said it is obvious that “opportunities for massive illegal migration must be stopped” and that the EC needs to change its policy.
