Hungarian Government Utility Cuts Scheme Saves Hungarians EUR 2.7bn
The government’s utility cuts programme has saved Hungarians some 821 billion forints (EUR 2.7bn) so far, state secretary for energy András Aradszki said on Saturday.

This year, the savings come to 179 billion forints, Aradszki told a press conference.

Hungary’s government froze utilities prices after coming to power in 2010 and made a series of price reductions in 2013-2014.

The price cuts save each Hungarian household about 110,000 forints a year, Aradszki said.
