The Budapest city assembly approved on Wednesday a twin-city cooperation agreement between Budapest and Krakow. Representatives unanimously supported the agreement and authorised the mayor to sign it. The pact first mooted in March last year involves creating closer ties between the two cities and nurturing historical and friendship ties.
Areas for cooperation include culture, tourism development and the promotion of youth and sport exchanges.
It also covers exchanging experiences on city developments and operations. It is planned that Mayor István Tarlós will sign the pact in June this year during a visit to Krakow.
