Fidesz Calls For National Security Probe Into Reports Of IS’s Fake Syrian Passports
- 12 Sep 2017 8:42 AM
Citing information from German authorities, Szilárd Németh said in a statement that the Islamic State held over 11,000 fake Syrian passports. Nemeth proposed that the national security committee should review the reports and evaluate whether the situation poses a threat to Hungary.
“Thousands of migrants have arrived in Europe using fake passports,” Németh said. He said this was “yet another sign” that terrorists had taken advantage of the mass migration wave facing Europe to infiltrate the continent.
“Meanwhile, Brussels is still working on distributing migrants among European Union member states based on quotas,” Németh added.
He said the data from German authorities were a “further warning” that the EU’s “permanent relocation mechanism” posed a major security risk for member states and would “spread terrorism” on the continent.
