Contemporary Dance: 'Orpheus & Eurydice', Mupa, 27 June
Enrico Morelli's choreography of the anguished and tragic story of the love between Orpheus and Eurydice makes tangible the passion that the two lovers are forced to restrain, by the will of the gods, at the moment they meet in the underworld.

The work is an interesting example of the harmonic co-existence of modernity and classicism, as well as of realism and idealism.

Through his recollections, the protagonist is led from the earthly world to the afterlife by the incomprehensibility of his desires and emotions.

The underworld is the nadir of the soul, the place where the characters confront their own demons.

The bodies of the dancers speak an anthropological and introspective language and translates the tragedy of the myth into a metaphor for mourning, with the dancing thus taking the protagonist on a psychoanalytical journey to conquer the pain of unbearable loss.
