New French Ambassador In Budapest

Mrs Pascale Andreani, Ambassador-designate of France to Hungary, has taken up office in Budapest, according to a press release by the French Embassy in Budapest. Her appointment was approved by the Hungarian authorities on May 18.
Mrs Andreani, who is a career diplomat, is a specialist in European issues. She was President Chirac's advisor on European affairs, then Secretary-General for European Affairs to Prime Ministers Jean-Pierre Raffarin and Dominique de Villepin. She was also France's ambassador to NATO and then to the OECD.
Based on her European experience, she will focus on further strengthening the relationship between Hungary and France.
