Beyn Hayamim Concert, Erkel Theatre Budapest, 7 November
- 30 Oct 2018 8:05 AM
Listen to how funk finds progressive world music. Come to a concert where instruments often take center stage. With diversity and heterogeneity, we try to present and reflect the world of our Creator and his Teachings.
Come to the show where Israeli classics are performed along ancient, medieval prayers and psalms. Four thousand years in two hours.
Beyn Hayamim comes from the Polish thinker and leader Józef Piłsudski. He coined the term "Intermarium" (in between seas) and used it for Central Europe, the third birthplace of the Jewish people, where it multiplied after it was chased away from its previous homes.
"Land between the seas" can also refer to the Holy Land and to the Earth, which is, according to the biblical world view, surrounded with waters from above and below. Because of the Hebrew language’s characteristics, the phrase can also mean "in between days," which refers to their ageless repertoire.
Beyn Hayamim play songs, but not only to entertain but to educate at the same time. They teach and convey the eternal truths of Judaism, its values, and the message of loving-kindness.
