Pro-Gov't Media Fare Badly in Press Correction & Privacy Lawsuits in Hungary

Fidesz-affiliated media products lost 67 lawsuits out of 76 press correction lawsuits in 2024, the website Átlátszó reports, having requested the data from the Capital Court.

Of the 67 rulings, such media outlets lost 51 completely and 16 others partly.

Only 26 press correction lawsuits were filed against independent media last year, and 19 of those, or 73% of the cases, ended in victory for the media outlets.

Átlátszó, Magyar Hang and RTL won all of their lawsuits.
