The declaration was signed by László György, state secretary at the Ministry for Innovation and Technology, in the presence of Claire Bury, deputy director-general of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology.
The European Blockchain Partnership was created last spring through a joint declaration agreed between 21 European Union member states and Norway.
The signatories have also agreed to cooperate in the establishment of a European Blockchain Services Infrastructure that will support the delivery of cross-border digital public services.
The EC launched the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum in February 2018 and will invest some EUR 300 million in projects supporting the use of blockchain in a number of technical and societal areas through its Horizon 2020 program.
