Gaming Company Finds Many Gambling Addicts In Hungary
About 4% of Hungarians are gambling addicts, and a further 10% are at risk of becoming addicted, according to a survey by state gaming monopoly Szerencsejáték.

Among those aged 15-17, the corresponding figures are 4% and 14%, respectively.

Among all respondents, 28% never gamble, 41% are not at risk of becoming addicted and 17% are in the low risk category.

Perhaps the most interesting responses came when subjects were asked whether they agree with the statement “If you lose several times in a row, you are more likely to win,” Portfolio observes.

Some 47% of gambling addicts agreed with this (false) statement, while only one in five non-addicts agreed.
