'Mothering Sunday', Saint Margaret’s Anglican Church Budapest, 31 March
No one is quite sure of the origin of Mothering Sunday. Scholars suggest the name may harken back to a custom in the late Middle Ages of returning to one’s home – or mother – church around this time of year.

Others believe the name arose from the original Epistle, or Scripture reading, assigned to this day, which refers to Jerusalem as Mother of all the churches.

In any case, Mothering Sunday is traditionally kept in the United Kingdom and some Commonwealth countries on the Fourth Sunday in Lent, which usually falls in March, as it does this year.

Join Saint Margaret’s Anglican Church Budapest as they pray for mothers near and far. There will be special flower gift for the Mums and also treats and refreshments after the service.

Be sure to bring family and friends.
