Enjoy A Summer Seaside Resort Feeling At Lupa Lake In Budakalász Near Budapest
If you fancy escaping the summer heat in Budapest for some beach style relaxation, or action, then check out this cool lake with a white sandy shore; comfy sun beds; fab food & drink facilities; beach-party vibes; plus great watersport options.

In less than an hour from the center of Budapest you can drink summer cocktails next to palm trees as you walk on soft white sand, and so experience a realistic beach resort feeling at Lupa.

It’s a big lake, and at any one time up to a total of 10,000 visitors can be found at Lupa enjoying a ‘seaside experience’ along the shoreline, which stretched over 2 km. Convenient electric shuttle buses help visitors get around the place for free.

Lupa opened as a 'Beach Resort' in Budakalász a couple of years ago, and has been constantly improving in popularity and facilities ever since. By now it’s become a refined summer playground for folks seeking sun-splashed fun by a large turquoise lake.

This spacious clean-water sanctuary is separated into two areas, ‘Bay Beach’ for bathers on more of a budget, and ‘Premium Beach’ for those who don’t care much about the cost of having some beach fun. In any case dIscounted fees apply after 5pm.

A peninsula area called ‘Long Island’ divides the lake, and features themed bars and beach party action on the waterfront. Several well-known F&B names such as Costes are present at Lupa, with the Costes Beach Club serving fine food inspired by this local Michelin-awarded restaurant.

In total about 20 venue offer gastro delights and drinks around the lake, ranging from gourmet fish and chips and big juicy burgers, to barbecue options and fresh salads, along with Hungarian favourites such as lángos, fine local wine, and ice cream naturally.

Families are most welcome, as there is a children’s beach zone with a lakeside playground, an aquatic adventure park and water dodgems, as well as a trampoline and a bouncy castle to help keep younger visitors entertained.

Worth highlighting is that anyone into watersports will love Lupa, as we’re told it's the biggest wakeboard centre in the region - see the video below.

Plus there’s windsurfing, SUP and Flyboarding to try for excitement, or for a more calming experience there’s also Thai massage and yoga available.

All told it’s well worth to go if you’ve never been, and if you have it’s high time to enjoy yourself again at Lupa, where as they say ‘Life is good’.
