Romania and Danish author Janne Teller will be country and guest of honour at the 30th Budapest International Book Festival, held between Oct 2 and 5 at the Balna Center of Military Culture, organisers said.
The Middle Ages will come to life at the Fékomadta Festival, which begins on the eve of October 9. This year, the free event series will last three days, and in addition to Zsámbék, both Visegrád and Esztergom have joined the program in 2025.
A special exhibition titled The Touch of Humility at the Bible Museum runs until November 25. The new temporary exhibition presents almost fifty works of art selected from the collection of Gyula Kemény.
The local saying is often used in difficult times to put a situation in perspective, as it basically means "Worse things have happened". The saying is drawn from Hungarian history, specifically the disaster at Mohács, where Hungary suffered a devastating defeat after an unstoppable attack by the Ottoman Empire.
