New Budapest Facility For Low-Cost Flights
Budapest Airport has started construction of a new terminal for low-cost airlines and will demolish the existing temporary structures servicing these airlines, the airport manager said as it confirmed a Magyar Nemzet report.

Passengers will have basic services available such as toilet facilities and food purchase points at the new terminal.

Buses will carry them to planes from the light construction building which will stand on the area of the future Terminal 2C.

Prime Minister’s Office leader Gergely Gulyás stressed earlier that the government would ban the use of the present makeshift buildings from January 1, 2020 if the airport does not replace them.

These temporary facilities were erected five years ago at both Terminal 2A and Terminal 2B.

Low-cost airlines moved to Terminal 2 from the closed Terminal 1 in the autumn of 2012, six months after the collapse of national airline Malév.
